Rebecca - Stylist and Nail technician.

What is your educational background?  I started out at the University of Minnesota Duluth for Graphic Design and then moved home to attend MATC for cosmetology. I graduated in 2005.

What is your specialty?  This is ever changing but I enjoy giving people a style they have not seen their hair do before.

What inspires you?  I really like to watch model and fashion shows, although most trends are not everyday Madison styles, it helps me to stay creative.

What is your favorite product?  “Tonic” by Bumble and Bumble is amazing.

What is your theme song?  Jo Dee Messina’s “Stand Beside Me”. Since moving to Madison I’ve had at least two jobs and moved three times in a one year span and I did this all on my own. Needless to say I am a pretty independent girl.

What is your astrological sign?  Pisces.

Where did you grow up?  I moved around a lot growing up, I was born and graduated from high school in Sauk Prairie.

What did you want to be when you grew up?  I recently looked at an old school survey and I was always interested in design, I wanted to do interior design.

What is your greatest achievement?  As far as professional achievements, I think finding this salon and being offered this position. It is everything I have been looking for in a salon.

What are your goals? I would not mind traveling some day. I would also like to get my managers license at some point.

What is your biggest indulgence? I would say going out to restaurants with my friends all the time. My dad says that I eat better than he ever has.

What is your most prized possession? Memorable notes and cards from my father.

What 3 things do you never leave home without? Cell phone, lip gloss, and Money.

What is your favorite movie? I like a lot of movies. I can quote “Varsity Blues” pretty well; I had the biggest crush on Scott Caan.

TV show?  I am obsessed with “Flip that House”.

Book? “Good in Bed” by Jennifer Weiner.

What is you favorite haircut?     On me it is my current look with my extensions but I love to work with short hair.

Who is your style icon?     I don’t really have an icon. My roommate and best friend taught me a lot when we were going through our cosmetology program.

If you could live any moment of time, when and where would it be?     I would not choose another time, boring I know, but I like this day and age.

If you weren’t a stylist, what career would you like to have?     I’ve been interesting in crime scene photography. I almost went to school for photography and I really get into CSI shows.

What makes you happy?     I love meeting new people and doing new things but hanging out with my old friends in my hometown is great too.

What does Elevation mean to you?      A chance to explore my career freely with the support of my co-workers.
